Reflection Ritual
May 28, 2025Every Sunday morning, after I sleep in and eat a nourishing breakfast, I sit with a mug of green tea and reflect on the previous week. This ritual is supported by my Heart Centered Planner (not an affiliate link, just fyi), which has space for the reflection, but it is something I have practiced for some time.
This practice isn’t about living in the past or holding onto things. It is a time of reflection, remembering, and compassion. Often, things don’t go as planned, and it is important to allow ourselves grace.
So when I find myself getting upset over something I did or didn’t do, said or didn’t say, this time is a dedicated space to move through it and move past it because with life’s busyness, I don’t always have the time in the moment to process things.
Once I’ve done that, I can remember the beautiful, fun, silly things that happened and shift from guilt or frustration or fear into a more loving embrace.
Our brains will always focus on the crap before the fun. It is designed that way on purpose, to protect us from danger. So, I’ve found it is just easier to go with that flow, process the harder things first, and then remember and reflect on the fun, perfectly imperfect moments.
Once I find myself in a more joyful state, I look to my week ahead, making sure to prioritize my self-care pieces, my kids, my team, and my business.
Do you have a reflection ritual? If so, I’d love to hear about it. Let me know.
